GPL MATCHDAY 22- ROUND UP

Match day 22 of the Ghana Premier League was staged this afternoon at the various venues. Medeama SC and Aduana Stars have their clash postponed. Of the seven games staged, 18 goals were scored at all venues with Dreams FC and Liberty Professionals getting 4 goals each to their credit. Six wins were recorded across all the centers with one ending in a drawn. All the wins happened to be home wins. Ashantigold SC and Asante Kotoko being the only clubs to get goals away from home.
The games are reviewed below;

DREAMS FC vs CHELSEA FC
At the 10, 000 capacity Dawu Park this afternoon, Dreams FC believed and whitewashed visitors Chelsea by four unanswered goals. The win means Dreams have stretched their unbeaten home run to six games. Goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey returned to the post and rewarded his manager with a clean sheet. Center back Abeiku Ainooson was the first to get his name on the score sheet after he converted a penalty on the 10th minute. Emmanuel Hayford scored a scintillating free-kick within three more minutes to set the ball rolling for a goal feast for the home side. Attacker, Michael Sarpong added one more before the 30th minute.Manuel Eli added he fourth in the second period of the game. The loss means Chelsea are now placed ninth on 29 points, six behind Dreams who have moved to third on the log.

INTER ALLIES FC vs ALL STARS
Inter Allies bounced back from the weekend's away loss at Techiman to register a home win over All Stars. It was their second straight home win having previously beaten WAFA at the same stadium. All Stars meanwhile have lost three on the trot. Enoch Adu got the opener for the home side in the first half. Tried as All Stars and their Manager Enos Adepa could, dead-ball specialist Gockel  Ahortor was at hand to add the second. Despite winning, Inter Allies are still in the dropzone with 25 points. Wa All Stars are still second placed with a game in hand.

BECHEM UNITED vs TECHIMAN CITY FC
Bechem United emerged victorious in the Brong Ahafo derby. Two goals in the second half of the game from Abednego Tetteh and Yaw Arnol condemned the Citizens to their ninth away loss of the season. After losing to Asante Kotoko at home  on 18th April, 2016, the Hawks have not lost at home again. Bechem United are now 13th on the log with 26 points whilst Techiman City lie 12th levelled on the same points with a game in hand.

EBUSUA DWARFS FC vs WAFA 
Bright Luqman scored a penalty to ensure that Dwarfs defeated WAFA and moved to tenth with 27 points. The goal was Luqman's third in three games.Dwarfs have managed five wins in their last five home games scoring ten goals in the process. WAFA meanwhile remain win less on the road. WAFA now lie 7th having accumulated three more points  than that of Dwarfs.

HEARTS OF OAK SC vs ASHANTIGOLD SC
In the late kick off game at the Accra Sports Stadium, Robin Gnagne was on hand to convert a penalty in the first half to give the home side the lead after Goalkeeper, Fatawu Dauda of Ashgold was adjudged to have fouled Patrick Razak of Hearts in the penalty box. Anthony Yerful who played upfront in place of Safiu Mumunu equalized within minutes to silence the home crowd. Hearts ended the game with 10 men. Hearts have still not managed to score more than a goal at home in their last nine attempts. Cosmos Dauda, the hero for Hearts in the reverse fixture at Obuasi was missing from the game. His third on the trot. Hearts still lead the pack with 39 points and travel to Sogakpe to face WAFA in their next game. Defending champions, Ashantigold on the other hand lie 11th with 26 points.

LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS vs HASAACAS FC
Hasaacas were walloped by four goals to nil at the Dansoman Park by Liberty Professionals. Felix Addo got the opener in the first half before Latif Blessing added two more, his 11th and 12th goals of the league season. Liberty had not won at home in their previous four home games.   Hasaacas have now conceeded 24 goals away having scored just 2.The win leaves  Liberty 8th on the table. Hasaacas lie 15th on 25 points, 4 points adrift off Liberty.

NEW EDUBIASE UNITED vs ASANTE KOTOKO SC
Asante Kotoko's title hopes was dealt a huge blow this afternoon as bogey side, New Edubiase United defeated them by two goals to one at the Gyamfi Park in Bekwai. The win means New Edubiase have beaten Kotoko home and away this season.Ahmed Adams returned to the Kotoko side but that was not enough to prevent impressive Tawfiq Mohammed of New Edubiase from getting his name on the score sheet with 17 minutes played. Kotoko were deservedly rewarded with a spot-kick for their surges upfront when Christian Agbesi fouled Sarfo Gyamfi in the box. Defender Amos Frimpong stepped up to register his 6th goal in the league season. Good old Nasir Lamine converted a spot-kick on the 80th minute mark to ensure that Kotoko remained win less in their last five games. This was New Edubiase's second win in 14 games. Kotoko now lie 6th on the ladder with 33 points. New Edubiase remain bottom placed with 21 points.
