Ghana Premier League Match Day 3- 7 things worth knowing ahead of the games

15 games have been played so far in the Ghana Premier League and as usual the near misses and catchy dribbles have left most fans in anxiety.  On Wednesday and Thursday,  the third round of games will be duely played across the various venues. Just 2 rounds of games and most coaches already have their jobs on the line.

The 3rd round promises nothing but excitement as league holders,  Aduana Stars travel to play WAFA at Sogakope on Wednesday.  At the Tarkwa and Aboaso park,  Medeama will shrug shoulders with Asante Kotoko whilst Bechem Utd battles Eleven Wonders at Techiman in a regional derby.

It doesn't end there as newly promoted side,  Karela will travel to Obuasi in search of their first league win when they play against Ashantigold SC. Can All Stars stop Dreams FC from believing?  Dawu park  has a story to tell but Cape Coast will have a chapter.

Elsewhere, International Allies will play at home to Liberty Professionals with Sharks making a stop at Berekum to face Chelsea.  On Thursday afternoon,  Cape Coast will witness fire works as Dwarfs play home to Hearts.

Here are some stats you should know ahead of the games ;

1. In their last 8 midweek games played at home,  Aduana Stars have scored 14 goals and conceeded 0. Can they replicate that away from home?

2. So far 26 goals have been scored in the 15 games played this season. An average of  1.7 goals per game.

3. Having conceeded 13 goals in their last 10 games last season,  Dwarfs are telling a new story this season.  They remain the only team to have not conceeded a goal this term.

4. Since joining the league in 2017, Sharks have played 32 games,  winning 12 and losing 13 of those.

5. Abdul Wahab's goal for Eleven Wonders at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park was the 33rd goal conceeded by Karela at home since they started using the park. The goal also happens to be the second any team has scored against Karela in the first half of a game there since 2016.

6. Aminu Mohammed (WAFA) and Shafiu Mumuni (Ashantigold)  are the only players to have scored in every round of games this season.

7. WAFA's 3-1 win at Dansoman represents their second biggest away win in the league.  Their highest being the 4-1 win over All Stars at Wa on 26/03/17.

NB; Elmina Sharks visit to Berekum has been postponed indefinitely.

Let's troop to the various venues to watch some eye catching football.
