Actors/Actresses Must Be Schools Of Life and Students For Life - David Dontoh Advises

Actresses and actors have come and gone , but David Dontoh through the years remains a very strong force to reckon in the Ghanaian  movie industry.

Originally, trained as a playwright, he rose through the film ranks with brilliance and authenticity. In 2008, Ghanaman as he is popularly known was awarded the Best International Actor Award at the 20th Pan African Film and Arts festival held in Spain, making him the first and only Ghanaian recipient.

At a public lecture organised by Webster University Ghana, David Dontoh advised growing actors on the need to keep re-inventing themselves as time passes by consistent learning of the culture as it evolves. He added that actors/actresses are students of life and students for life meaning as an actor/actress, it behooves on you to painstakingly study life's several complexities to further influence and impact life as it unfolds.

David Dontoh went on to emphasize the importance of film for Africa's stunted development, alluding to the fact that, good films wield the power to refine societal thinking, preserve and market culture, promote tourism and also generate tonnes of  revenue for economical growth.

He urged all related stakeholders including the government to make provisions for development through creative arts structures and systems.
