Be True To Yourselves If You Want To Stay Relevant - Ambolley To Young Musicians

Gyedu Blay Ambolley is one of Ghana's esteemed musicians with over 8 successful albums to his credit.

Over the years, he has managed to keep himself relevant to the music industry, mainly because of his contribution to the highlife genre and the african music landscape.

Ambolley was asked at the 19th public lecture of the Webster University, Ghana, what were the ideal things and habits to know and have in order to stay relevant in the film industry.

He responded that the only thing an artiste (or pretty much everybody) needed to be relevant was to be true to themselves and their craft; a trait that is missed by most of today artistes.

According to Ambolley, when an artiste is true to himself/herself, it helps him/her to successively make music that can stand the test of time.
