The Untamed journey

Samini at the press briefing, revealed that work on this album started as far back as 2016. He added that the build up process to creating this album was a lengthy but worthy one, with critical attention to sound, lyrics, content, strategy and every detail, just to have it near perfection.

Release date

The album is scheduled to be released on his birthday, 22nd December - same day of his annual Saminifest.

Artwork and Tracklist

Here are the cover art and tracklist designed by Rimless, one of Ghana's prolific visual creatives). The significance of the cover art as explained by Samini's management, the 'M' in the UNTAMED visualizes the print of a lion's paw. What the artwork projects is that, Samini with this album is communicating his prowess and resilience as a lion that can never be tamed.

Productio

The production of the album rests on the shoulders of a Grammy-credible company in Canada, called Loud City. This record company has worked with likes of Sizzla Kalonji, Kranium, Vybz Kartel,  amongst other tried and tested artistes with awarded records. Nonetheless, 6 local producers namely Master Garzy, Kaywa, Kwik Action, JMJ, Asaase, Brainy Beatz made substantive inputs into the UNTAMED album. Master Garzy produced My own and Obaa, with the latter mixed and mastered by Kaywa. Apart from master garzys productions, all the others created their beats for the final recording and mastering to be handled by Loud city, as revealed by Samini.

Expectations

During the listening session, a question was asked about Samini's targets and expectations for this reggae album. Samini expressed that, this album is his quest to solidify Ghana and the continent's contribution to the reggae music fraternity. Ultimately, his target is to enlist this project which is his 7th studio album on the Grammy score card.
