Kumasi Asante Kotoko have managed to secure the services of Ashantigold's utility player Habeeb Mohammed formerly of Ashgold on transfer deadline day. The club initially failed to reach a compromise with the Obuasi based side on deals for Ivorian Richard Djodi, James Akaminko and Shafiu Mumuni. Habeeb joins the Porcupines on a free transfer.

The club scored 8 goals in the 4 qualification matches played in the CAF Confederations Cup but certainly there is a call to do more. Who comes in? Teguy Dany Zabo. The combative forward also joins on the free from Swaziland based Manzini Wanderers FC.

Habeeb Mohammed can play across the defense and can also play in central midfield if required. The two players have been registered duely with CAF and will compete for the matchday squad in the club's home game against Zesco United in Kumasi on the 13th of February.

Habeeb and Zabo are believed to have signed three year deals each. The Ivorian joins Yacouba Songne and Naby Keita as the club's imports. Coincidentally,  they all happen to be forwards.

The club will seek to pull another deal before the window closes. The club has also sanctioned loan deals to Liberty Professionals for young forwards,  Ibrahim Ousman and Michael Yeboah.

Vilified forward Frederick Boateng, young midfielder Douglas Owusu Ansah and Abass Mohammed are rumoured to also be on their way out of the club. Potential deals in Egypt and Sweden could be the eventuality.

The club meanwhile begin their quest for continental glory with a trip to Ombdurrman,  Sudan to face Al-Hilal in their CAF Confederations Cup group opener on February 3rd.
