GFA SC- 5 THINGS WE NOTICED FROM MATCH DAY 3

Under a little over 30°c, 9 goals were scored in 7 games as Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways with Aduana Stars and Ashantigold enduring a goalless stalemate. Bechem United won their duel over close neighbors, Berekum Chelsea.

In the other Zone, Karela United inflicted upon Hearts of Oak further pain in Aiyinase with a slim victory as Sharks and WAFA drew goalless. Liberty and Dreams both win at home with slim margins.

What did we observe?

Effi-Cient
Effiong Jnr. has scored two goals in Inter Allies' last two away games. Rather surprisingly, both goals have been equalisers. The bulky centre forward has taken matters up with the club's icon Victorien  Adebayor out. He remains the club's only player to have scored a goal thus far. The Nigerian looks set for an adventure.

Mysterious and Wonderful
In cognisance to their names, Dwarfs and Eleven Wonders are doing the unthinkable in the competition so far. Both clubs are on nil points after playing 3 games each. Can they do anything mysterious and wonderful in their next games? Getting a point will fit this parenthesis.

League Log
The Finals
Asante Kotoko's win over Eleven Wonders puts them in top of Zone A with 6points. This sets up a group decider with Ashantigold who trial them by a point after drawing goalless with Aduana Stars. In Zone B, another midweek final date was set up as Karela's win over Hearts means their next game with WAFA at Sogakope will determine who tops the zone after 4 games.

Left backs do Score Too
Asante Kotoko's Coach for all the criticisms has managed a good job with his Left backs. Under his tenure, Amos Frimpong ,Daniel Darkwah , Abass Mohammed and Evans Owusu have all found the back of the net playing from the left wide side of defence. Goal scoring is a shared responsibility. C. K understands this well especially with his recognized centre forwards injured.

Granted?
2  consecutive away losses but one would say Hearts of Oak is still under construction. New managers and new players means hearts will grow but not yet. 3 points in 3 games for Kim Grant. Is he taking things for Granted? Well,  progress is a process.
