"The Stonebwoy You Know Always Comes In Peace". Stonebwoy Officially Apologises for VGMA Scandal

He had just been crowned the Reggae Dancehall Artiste for the fifth consecutive time, tensions were up, the rivalry was at a rather disgusting peak, and Stonebwoy did the unusual - pulled out a gun on stage.

This was what happened at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when Shatta Wale, his arch rival in the Ghanaian dancehall space created a scene of violence on the stage.

The event which led to a temporary halt of the awards ceremony has been described by many as a distasteful look to the Ghanaian music industry and its culture, putting Charterhouse - the organisers of the event, Vodafone Ghana - the headline sponsor and other corporate stakeholders in jeopardy.

However, Stonebwoy who justified his actions as self defence apologised shortly after the bizarre moment, apologizing to all and sundry. Stonebwoy reportedly submitted to the necessary authorities, right after the show, to allow the law take its due course - an action which was misconstrued as an alleged arrest.
After careful review of all happenings, the C.E.O of the Bhimnation Music Group, has published a release via instagram, explaining himself some more and apologising for the unfortunate turn of events.

The 20th edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ended on a not too statisfying note. Check out all the winners here, with the exclusion of the 'Most popular song' and best artiste of the year categories which were left out of the main listings for best reasons known to the organisers.
