GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE- WEEK 28. 11 THINGS WORTH SHARING


The Ghana Premier League bounces back into action this weekend. With a paltry three rounds of matches to be played, All Stars seem to be cruising to their first ever league trophy having gained 48 points, 3 more than Aduana Stars. New Edubiase United are stil rooted to the last spot with 25 points.
8 games will be played simultaneously across all the centers this weekend. Hearts of Oak will play host to Dwarfs in Accra with Liberty also hosting All Stars at Dansoman. New Edubiase United will play for glory when they meet Bechem United at Bekwai. Dreams FC will also welcome Inter Allies to the "Theatre of Dreams" whilst Aduana Stars will play a regional derby with Techiman City. In Berekum, Ashantigold will play away to Chelsea whilst Kotoko travels to Tarkwa to face Medeama. Hasaacas will also lock-horns with WAFA at the Essipong Stadium. 

Here are things to take note of ahead of this round of games;

1. Out of a possible 240 league games, 216 have been played so far. Representing 90%.

2. 432 goals have been registered so far with Aduana Stars fetching the most. 36.

3. Bechem United have won all their last 4 league games scoring 9 and conceding just 1.

4. Hasaacas have scored 23 goals at Essipong this season. 14 of those goals have been scored in the second period of their games.

5. Medeama SC is yet to register a goal agains Kotoko at Tarkwa in 4 tries. They have lost 3 and drawn 1.

6. In their previous 3 league clashes with Hasaacas, WAFA have scored 10 goals, 9 of which have come at home.

7. In the last 6 meetings between All Stars and Liberty, Liberty have won 2 with the rest ending in stalemates.

8. Dwarfs are unbeaten in their last 3 away games this season. Surprisingly, they are yet to score a goal at the Accra Sports Stadium on their last 4 visits.

9. 12 red cards have been shown in the second round of the league. Dreams FC top the chart with 3 followed by Liberty with 2.

10. Dreams FC's two all draw with Inter Allies in the first round remains their highest scoring away game. 2 goals away from home.

11. Bechem United's two nil victory over Dwarfs at Cape Coast happened to be their  first away win since 04/06/14. They had managed just 5 away draws afterwards in 27 games.
