WATCH: Sarkodie to support new acts & embark on youth empowerment drive

Rapper Sarkodie has made known his plans to embark on a youth empowerment drive and also support upcoming artistes this year.
He told Journalists at the unveiling of former President John Agyekum Kufuor as the patron of the Ghana Job Bank Initiative that plans about the drive are still being discussed with the relevant stakeholders to ensure it is successful.
The ‘Glory’ act was one of several high-profiled personalities who were at the Airport residence of Kufuor on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 for the unveiling.
The initiative provides a platform where the employers can have access to young people who need work – by matching employers to job seekers, and also train young people to be self-employed.
The rapper is of the opinion that the plans will impact the lives of young people, and also become a platform to upcoming artistes to get mainstream acclaim.
“Listening to the president, let me say, I have grown over the years, when I came in initially, obviously we are all kind of frustrated with what we are supposed to do so who do we turn to? The parents are the government. That has always been my approach but I think growing up and maturing till now, I have realized that we need to take things into our own hands. We are actually lucky that it is not too flooded with people taking all the opportunities, we have more than we can explore” explained Sarkodie.
