Ghana Premier League - Round 6 Review -Ashgold halted, Medeama end WAFA'S run..

With 5 rounds of games done, the players of the various club teams are gradually warming themselves up into the season. The 6th round of games were honoured this midweek with the various match centres across the country filled with passionate fans who cheered their sides to victory.

On the field of play, coaches and players alike did their possible best to create visionary images worth keeping for a while, at least until the next round of games is honoured. The end-to-end actions,  near post misses and cheeky runs were all on exhibition for the teeming supporters.

Here is how it happened across the various match centres;

Babayara Stadium;  Asante Kotoko 2, Ebusua Dwarfs 1
Obed Owusu ran the show in the final third for the home side as he scored and assisted a goal each. The veteran attacker smashed a shot into the net to give the home side a first half lead. Dwarfs responded minutes into the second half when Okudzeto slotted the equalising goal from close range.  With all to play for,  Kotoko found the killer punch when Frederick Boateng coolly tapped in an Obed Owusu pass after a great team build up.  Dwarfs sink again!

The Yellow and Mauves in a peer talk
Nana Agyemang Badu Park: Aduana 4, Eleven Wonders 1
The travelling side made a short stop at Dormaa for their real baptism into the league by the defending champions. Sam Adams scored from 12 yards to give the home side their lead before Nathaniel Asamoah doubled the lead. Cisse got a goal for the away side to reduce the goal margin but Hafiz Adams and Gideon Kyeremeh got goals to ensure that the baptism was in course. Gideon is only 14 years old.

Dansoman: Liberty 1, Ashgold 0
After the first 5 round of games, many tipped Ashgold to win the crown after an invincible start to the season. Was Coaching Akonnor and his boys ever going to be defeated?  Elvis Aikins Baffour ensured that. He scored late into the game to break the resistance of the Miners. He finished off a great a counterattack to subdue the Obuasi lads.

Cape Coast Stadium : Hearts 3, All Stars 1
The home side returned to winning ways as the seek to make their adopted home a fortress. Sellasie Bakai scored first before Esso converted a penalty kick to consolidate their lead. All Stars' Kingsley also scored from the penalty spot to bring the away side who were a man down into the game. Dauda Cosmos who replaced Selasie got the much needed goal to ensure that the away side were beaten through and through.

Nana Gyeabour Park : Bechem Utd 2, Dreams FC 1
Konkoni scored a goal in each half to ensure that Dreams FC left the Brong Ahafo region without a point. Zuberu Sharani continued his good form for the away side but from all indications,  the home wasn't going to give a point away.

Sogakope : WAFA 1, Medeama 2
The yellow and mauves from the west surprised the academy boys by handing them their first ever defeat at home in the season. Charles Boateng scored earlier on for the home team but Justice Blay and Kwasi Donsu scored in each half for the away side to ensure that the home side's invincibility was broken.  Well,  in over 40 home games WAFA had never lost a game. Donsu's winner remains a spectacle 👏🏿

Paa Kwasi Ndoum Stadium : Sharks 1, Allies 0
Ismaila Mohammed's first half goal was enough to hand the away side their third away season of the season. The home crowd did their best to cheer their boys on and they responded by giving them the 3 points at stake.

Babayara Stadium : Karela   Vs   Chelsea
Playing at a home away from home, Bismark Boamah shot the Nzema boys into the lead with barely 10 minutes of the match done. There was no way the Blues could find the equaliser as the home side zealously fought to the blast of the final whistle.
