Asante Kotoko - Paa Kwasi Fabin wants 6 out

Over the last few weeks the world was rocked with the news of the departure of Arsene Wenger from his Arsenal. Arsenal Arseneless? Well, the end of the 22 year old era was staring football fans in the face ever since the gaffer failed to be his old winning self. Today, some players' stint with the mighty Asante Kotoko SC also came to an end.

Like Wenger, there seems to be an element of foul play as the affected players clearly would have loved to stay on a bit more at least see out their running contracts.

Head Coach,  Paa Kwasi
With 12 rounds of games played, the club has scored a paltry 10 and conceded 11 amassing 17 out of a possible 36 points. This leaves nothing to be desired as the club has struggled the same fate in the recent past years.

Long serving defender, Eric Donkor has seen his contract terminated after failing to grow as a player in the red jersey. Edwin Tuffuor Frimpong, Seth Opare, Yakubu Mohammed also make up the list of players departing the club. Attackers Frank Gyamfi and Sadick Adams are also going out with the latter being reportedly released on issues based on attitude.

The club took this gamble in the middle of the 2011/12 season where players like Gershon Akuffo, Michael Akuffo, Awal Mohammed, Nafiu Iddrissu, Sabato Mohammed and  Nathaniel Asamoah joined the club to help them place second after a horrible start to the season under Coach Ebo Mends.

Coach Bashir Hartford did same before the 2006/07 where he shipped out some of the big names like Aziz Ansah, Godfred Yeboah among others and brought in young lads like Samuel Inkoom, Harrison Afful, Jordan Opoku, Francis Coffie and Eric Bekoe who helped the club to win the league trophy later in the year.

Well, the past is there to guide this decision and hopefully it turns out only good.

Edwin(left), Yakubu (right)  are set to leave the Royal Reds
Togolese striker Alex Gakte has penned down a new year deal with the Royal Reds with other players likely to join the club soon. Either Jones Agyei of Right To Dream Academy or Isaac Kwain of Karela United is set to join as a new right back with Abraham Frimpong of Amidaus Professionals and Ousman Ibrahim Mohamed of Asokwa Deportivo also likely to join the Kumasi based club. Alhaji Issaku Mohammed dubbed "Messi" by the teeming fans after his impressive display in the red shirt against  Bekwai Youth Football Academy is on his way to the club as well as central defender Emmanuel Agyeman Badu from Phar Rangers who has trained with the side for close to a month

Head Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin and his assistant Akakpo Patron are known for their affinity towards working with young players and this might be the cause for this revolution.

Meanwhile, Eric Donkor has taken to twitter to say good bye to the club he has served for so long.

Frank Gyamfi is likely to join premier league club Dreams FC with Ashantigold SC also lurking around. Tuffuor Frimpong is also likely to revert to his old club Liberty Professionals to continue his career.
