Every match center recorded a goal just like the previous week's games, as the first round of the Zylophone Cash Premier League came to an end. In total, 85 wins have been recorded in the 115 games played so far with 239 goals being scored. 5 games are yet to be honoured with Aduana Stars involved in 4 of those owing to their participation in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Clearly, it is easier to collect pats on the back than to gain points and yesterday was no different. Kotoko, Bechem Utd, Chelsea, Karela and All Stars all recorded wins at home. This makes it 71 home wins in the first half of the league with a second beckoning.17 goals were scored with Yacouba Songne of Kotoko the only player to get a brace.

Here are some highs and lows Gyamfi's Column gathered from the match centres ;

847 Days, 67 wins, No defeat
The Crosby Awuah Memorial Park at Aiyinase has proven to be nothing more than a fortress for Karela United. Since it's commissioning, 74 games have been played there and the home side have at worst drawn only 7, winning the rest. Prior to Abdul Ganiu's goal from the 11 metre spot against Inter Allies on Sunday, 150 goals had been scored at the ground. The "Passion Stand " should be visited.

7/9 for Mampong Asante Kotoko
Since returning from their Asante Mampong training tour, Kotoko have managed 2 wins and a draw in their 3 league games played. They also breezed past storm academy in their FA Cup tie. They have now scored 4 goals in their games at home having scored just 2 in their previous 2 home games.
New club,  New start! Ernest Sowah (Blue)
Awudu mars Sowah's debut
Goalkeeper Ernest Sowah was having a dream start to his career at Hearts of Oak until substitute Tahiru Awudu scored in added on time of the second half. Having pulled a string of saves, Hearts were almost home and dry until that lapse in concentration. Medeama scored in their 7th consecutive game as they held Hearts. This is the 30th drawn game of the first round.

All Stars win 2nd game 👏
In usual fashion this season, All Stars won. Second win of the season and with a similar scoreline. The WA based club who won the league just two seasons ago lie bottom of the table after a poor start to this campaign. Maxwell Opoku's winner against Eleven Wonders was All Stars' 4th home goal of the season.

Results for the Week
Yak or Yac?
Just a season ago, Yakubu Mohammed had his name on the lips of most Kotoko supporters. 4 goals in 5 games had made him an instant toast among the supporters. He had a patchy season thereafter with 2 goals only being added to his tally. Sent out on loan,  the striker has scored 3 goals in 2 games for Sharks and the Kotoko should be missing him. But no, Yacouba Songne has given them something new to sing about. An impressive start to his stint has seen him score 4 in 5 games including a brace against Aduana on Sunday. Similar start, same end? Time will tell.

Aduana horrible on the road
Away from home, the Dormaa based club have yet to win a game this season. In their last 3 away games, they have lost by a 1-2 margin.

Hearts players can't get over the Kotoko win?
After the famous victory over arch rival, Kotoko,  Hearts have gone 4 games without a win, drawing 3 and losing 1 in the process. Interestingly, they have scored just once in the 4 games and conceeded 2. Hopefully, the break will give them a respite to come back stronger.

Referee Issaka Afful had an afternoon in hell
The Babayara Stadium was made a hell on earth for Referee Afful and his colleagues as the home fans denied him entrance to the changing rooms after he had whistled to end the first half of the Kotoko and Aduana game. The fans didn't side with him on most of his calls and though they were having a one goal lead. The Referee was also said to have been responsible for a "dubious " penalty call against  Kotoko on the stroke of full time away to Medeama. Enough to call for his head?
How the clubs stand
Isaac Amoako pays Soulama a tribute?
On Saturday afternoon, Dreams FC played it square with Dwarfs. Experienced goalkeeper, Amoako of Dreams nearly emulated his late friend Soulama Abdoulaye who gifted Kotoko a goal by trapping a back pass into his own net 2 seasons ago. Amoako received a pass from Dwubeng and his failed control nearly found the back of the net but for the post. He recovered to get the ball away. Amoako and the late Soulama were once teammates at Asante Kotoko with the former deputising the later.

Konkoni is the man!
Bechem Utd needed to win after failing to do in their previous 3 games and Hafiz Konkoni showed up. The hero of the Hawks this season, Konkoni scored in stoppage time of the second half as the 85th win of the season was recorded. Konkoni now leads the top scorers chart having scored 8 goals. He has recorded a brace on 3 occasions.
