EUROPA LEAGUE - WHICH GHANAIAN PLAYERS QUALIFIED

The 10th Europa League is underway with the draws for the group stage set for 31st August at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. In all, 48 teams will be participating in the annual tournament. 

12 clubs gained qualification to the group stages in the final qualification matches held on Thursday night.

Let's see how the 5 Ghanaian players fared; 

32 year old left-back, Nana Akwasi Asare played the entire game as his side, Gent lost by 2 goals away to Bordeaux. The Gent captain got booked on the 43rd minute as his side bowed out of the competition. 

Issah Abass' Olimpija Ljubljana managed a one all draw with Trnava in Slovakia. The striker got substituted with 9 minutes of the game left to be played. Olimpija lost out on a 1-3 aggregate. 

Joseph Aidoo saw no action as Genk won by 4 goals to 2 in Denmark. Team mate, Joseph Paintsil joined the action on the 62nd minute as Genk did the double over Brondby to qualify for the group stages. 

Bukari Osman once again replaced Sleegers as he lasted 28 minutes in Trencin's defeat to AEK Larnaca. Trencin bowed out on a 1-4 aggregate.
