UEFA Europa League - ANTHONY ANNAN AND SAMUEL AFUM BOW OUT AS ABASS ISSAH AND SAMUEL TETTEH IMPRESS

The UEFA Europa League qualifiers took place and as usual some Ghanaian players feautured for their clubs. Let's get to see how they fared. 



HJK 1, NK OLIMPIJA LJUBLJANA 4
Abass Issah led the away to a big win in Finland. The former Asokwa Deportivo striker got his side's first goal and his third of the tie on the 20th minute. Anthony Annan and Evans Mensah lasted the entire duration for HJK. The Slovenian side progressed on a 7-1 aggregate. 

FC COPENHAGEN 2, CSKA SOFIA 1
Edwin Gyasi saw first half action for the Bulgarians as they lost the tie. The former Twente and Roda winger was substituted on the stroke of half time. 

 U CRAIOVA 1, RB LEIPZIG 1
Isaac Donkor played the entire game as the Germans managed a one all drawn game in Romania. Tried as he did in the defensive midfield role, the Romanians were edged out on aggregate. 

MIDTJYLLAND 3, TNS 1
Young midfielder, Michael Baidoo introduced into the game as the home side cruised to a comfortable victory. The youngster saw his first action in a long while for the Danish side. 

ZENIT 8, DIN. MINSK 1 aet 
Yahaya Seidu lasted the entire 120  minutes as Zenit overturned a four nil defeat to progress to the next stage of the qualifiers. The former Tema Youth player got the only goal for the visitors in extra time. 

BREST 1, APOLLON 0
Saliw Babawo lasted the entire duration on the substitutes bench for the home side. The win wasn't enough to prevent the Cyprus side from qualifying to the next stage. Joel Fameyeh failed to make the team for the home club. 

LASK LINZ 2, BESIKTAS 1
Creative force, Samuel Tetteh got two assists as the Austrian club won the game at home. The on-loan player from Salzburg left the field with 11 minutes to spare having orchestrated two goals. The away side qualified on the away goal rule. 

BRONDBY 2, SP. SUBOTICA 1
Samuel Afum formerly of Hearts of Oak lasted the entire duration of the away side's loss on the substitutes  bench. The home side edged out the Serbian club in both legs. 

LECH P. 1, GENK 2
Joseph Aidoo played in the heart of defense for the Belgium side as they won the second leg of the tie. Joseph Paintsil missed out for the away side due to injury as they secured qualification to the next stage. 

FCSB 2, HADJUK SPLIT 1
Said Ahmed got his side's consolation goal and his  4th in the last 11 games though his side bowed out of the qualifiers. 

FEYENOORD 1, TRENCIN 1
The Slovakian club edged out the homesters in Netherlands as Bukari Osman lasted the entire duration of the game as a substitute. 

GENT 3, JAGIELLONIA 1
Ace left-back, Nana Akwasi Asare captained the home side to another win over their Polish opponents. 

PARTIZAN 3, NORDJAESLLAND 2
Kudus Mohamed and Godfred Donyoh started in attack for the away club as they lost the tie. Clinton Antwi was an unused substitute for the away side as Abdul Mumin also featured in the defence line of the away side. 

BURNLEY 1, BASAKSEHIR 0 aet 
Joseph Attamah was an unused substitute as the Turks lost out on qualification to the English club. 

RIJEKA 0, SARPSBORG 1
Maxwell Acosty and his teammates failed to deliver as the Croatian side bowed out of the tournament.
