Asante Kotoko's kingpin, Songné Yacouba has earned a call up to the senior National Team of Burkina Faso as confirmed by our outfit.

Paulo Duarte, the manager of the Stallions is reported to have included the Ghanaian based attacker in his squad for their ultimate and crucial 2019 AFCON qualifier with Mauritania.

Yacouba last played for the Stallions in May, 2015 as a substitute in a goalless friendly game against Kazakhstan at the Ortalıq Stadion.

He will offer competition to former Asante Kotoko player,  Amed Touré and former WAFA SC trainee, Ocansey Mandela as the Stallions aim to book a place in Egypt.

The former Etoile Filante wideman joined Kotoko in January 2018 but made his debut in May after which he managed to score 4 times in 5 league games. In 8 starts in the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup, he has managed 2 goals and 5 assists for the Ghanaian club giants.

His exploits in Ghana for Asante Kotoko resulted in many calling for his inclusion into the Black Stars (Senior National Team of Ghana).

Yacouba, suspended, will miss Asante Kotoko's final Confederations Cup encounter with Zesco United in Zambia.
