GFASC- 5 OBSERVATIONS WITH 2 ROUNDS OF GAMES TO SPARE

On soggy pitches across the nation, Premier League clubs battled for points with the season soon ending. Bar a rained off game, six end-to-end games were sold as many fans and supporters got soaked in the downpour.

14 goals were scored with 3 unsual away wins recorded. Hearts of Oak maintained their grip on the top of Zone B with a home win over Karela. Asante Kotoko and Ashgold also did the needful to catch up with Medeama at the apex of Zone A.
Sharks, Bechem United and Liberty got the maximum points away from home to keep their season glowing.

"Inter Chelsea Alliance"
Languishing at the bottom of both zones are Berekum Chelsea and Inter Allies. Both clubs have secured single wins all season. In typical fashion both sides conceded their 8th defeats yesterday though playing at home. Can't wait for the season to end to see the duo break this fate.

45 for Mumuni
In the quest to secure continental football, the Miners have registered 2 important home wins over Kotoko and Aduana. Tearing Aduana apart yesterday, Ashgold's Shafiu Mumuni did the unimaginable. The seasoned striker got 4 goals as the Miners deflated Aduana Stars by a 4-1 margin. Mumuni got a first half hat trick as well as scoring Aduana's goal. Yes! A hat trick and an own goal for the Mumuni.

Current Log

Georges' Day
Normally spiced with a "Taylor" show, the Special Competition had new ingredients as the games were cooked. George Amonoo with his 3rd goal of the campaign secured an away win for Sharks at Sogakope. Another George, gave Liberty a breather at Tema. George Aamong with his first goal catapulted Liberty to a massive away win.

Simply The Best
Having recorded their 5th win of season, Liberty Pros. are on course to get a spot for continental football. With 2 games to spare, Hearts of Oak look to have secured a spot with another up for grabs. The sudden surge of the Dansoman side defies punditry work as most experts tipped Hearts, Karela, Sharks and WAFA to battle for the top 2 spots. A point above Sharks and WAFA with two off Karela, Liberty will seek to gate crush this party with 2 games to play.

2 Finals Before Semis
The thought of the next 180 minutes of football for the various clubs in Zone A must be stricken. Predicted, Ashgold, Kotoko, Medeama and Aduana looks set to battle out for the top 2 places to make it into the Semifinals. Aduana apart, the other 3 clubs look poised to finish top considering the points gathered. The last 2 games will be played out as finals beforehand.

* Dwarfs will be playing Dreams FC today after their game at the Carl Reindolf Park was rained off.
